Cambia Tutto is a short experimental animated documentary I co-directed with artist and animator Ana Mouyis as part of the Residenza artist residency in Cavaso del Tomba, Italy. I created the music and sound and was director of photography.
Cambia Tutto is a trip down a mountain through an aging Italian village, frame by frame. The short is comprised of over 2500 images that take the viewer through the small Italian village of Cavaso del Tomba, a place that has changed from a cultural epicenter for the neighboring rural areas to a sleepy town surrounded by industrial sites. Each frame of the film is a carefully photographed or painted image of a specific aspect of the area and the score is interwoven with local field recordings. All these details come together to celebrate this small overlooked village and show how immensely beautiful those unnoticed things and forgotten places are if you pay attention.
The sound for this film marks an early trend in my recent work that endeavors to bring together music, technology, and field recordings in a way that connect an audience with a place through the magnification of small detail.
